Cash back is only earned on eligible Net Purchases. Net Purchases are Purchases minus credits and returns. Not all transactions are eligible for cash back, such as Advances, Balance Transfers and Convenience Checks. Upon approval, see your Cardmember Agreement for details. Account must be open and current (no past due Minimum Payment) on the closing date of the billing cycle in order to earn and redeem cash back. Merchants are identified by a merchant category code that is not established by U.S. Bank. A Purchase will not earn cash back if the merchant’s category code is ineligible. You will earn 3% cash back for every $1 of the first $4,000 spent annually on Purchases classified as insurance, starting with your January statement and 1% cash back after that. Annually is defined as the period of time starting with your January statement (which may include transactions made in December) and running through your December statement (which may not include all transactions made in December). You will also earn 3% cash back for every $1 spent on Purchases at merchants classified as gas stations, electric vehicle charging stations, office supply stores, dining, restaurants, fast-food restaurants, bars, food delivery services and cell phone service providers.
