Cash back is only earned on eligible Net Purchases. Net Purchases are Purchases minus credits and returns. You will earn 3% cash back for every $1 of the first $4,000 spent annually on Purchases classified as insurance, starting with your January statement and 1% cash back after that. “Annually” is defined as the period of time starting with your January statement (which may include transactions made in December) and running through your December statement (which may not include all transactions made in December). When you apply through a State Farm agent or agent team member, you will earn an additional 2% cash back on Purchases classified as insurance made within the first 365 days of your account opening (not subject to the annual $4,000 spend cap). This means that during the first 365 days after your account opening you will either earn 5% (if the spend cap has not been reached) or 3% (if the spend cap has been reached) on insurance Purchases depending on whether you have reached the annual $4,000 spend cap. You will earn 2% cash back for every $1 spent on Purchases at merchants classified as gas stations, electric vehicle charging stations, restaurants, fast-food restaurants, bars, grocery stores, food delivery services and drug stores.
